Newsprint and print
Newsprint
Recovered fiber, with the opacity to print both sides of a light sheet. For newspapers, inserts and flyers.
At the mill
Brightness comes from cleaner, more selectively sorted recovered paper or a share of fresh mechanical pulp. Deinking and peroxide or dithionite brightening do the rest. Opacity rises with basis weight, filler and mechanical pulp. A brighter sheet often needs filler or weight to keep its opacity, and filler costs some strength.
